My father gave me a ring, which had belonged to my grandmother.

It turned out that when my grandfather passed away, she had their rings melted together and wore it until she passed away. This has always stuck with me. Jewellery can transform and carry such powerful meaning and memories.

When my now husband proposed, he gave me a diamond glued onto a cheap plastic ring. He told me that he wasn’t going to buy a ring, as I’d be making the ring myself (!!!!) At the time, I was making jewellery, but I hadn’t ventured into fine jewellery. The first piece of jewellery I made from melting down gold which was given to me by my mother, was my engagement ring, followed by our wedding rings. The rings and the meaning, memories and story they hold is so precious, unique and completely priceless.

I studied Architecture at university in the UK and have always had a fascination with how things are made. I went on to work as a Project Manager at a design agency which specialised in high end aircraft interiors. Managing the design process and the clients was a really wonderful role, and in such a technical and design focused industry as well! On a personal level, I have always enjoyed home renovations and I’ve managed (and work on site) on a few projects now.

All my previous experience comes together with jewellery making. Figuring out how things are made, designing, prototyping, working with clients to deliver a project that they will love. I love how it’s such a technical and mathematical process. I love the design development process, the trial and errors and the successes. The workbench offers infinite possibilities.

My favourite element of jewellery making is creating something with deep meaning.
